Special rules regarding missing Tryout Sessions:

As a registered player for the Cumberland Jr. Grads tryout sessions, our rules and regulations as it relates to a player missing a tryout session is as follows:

1)      Missing one of the evaluations because of vacation/out-of-town

Any prospective player who will miss one or more try-out evaluation, must obtain approval prior to the first on-ice try-out evaluation, in writing, from the President, VP Hockey Operations or VP Admin.  Based on this approval, the Player Selection Committee and/or Head Coach may grant an additional try-out session, to their discretion.

2)      Missing try-outs because of medical reasons

Any prospective player who will miss one or all try-out evaluations because of injury must provide, prior to the first on-ice try-out evaluation, medical proof (i.e., medical certificate) to the VP Operations of inability to participate in try-outs as well as the anticipated return to play on or before November 15th of the current hockey season.  Once proof has been acknowledged and accepted by the VP Hockey Operations, the coaches of the level in question will put forward their recommendation as to which level the player should be playing.  This recommendation must describe the player’s previous years’ hockey background as well as the rationale of the recommended level.  Recommendations/testimonials from previous years’ coaches should also be included.  The recommendation from the Coaches will be presented for approval to the Player Selection Committee who will provide their final decision as to the level at which the player should be playing.  Based on this decision, should the player be unable to return to play by November 15th of the current hockey season, the Head Coach has the right to switch the injured player with a player from the next lower level team or simply decide to affiliate players for the remainder of the season.

Part of the process is to submit a formal request for approval to miss a tryout session to:

Chris Herman, VP Hockey Operations (vp_ops@cumberland-jrgrads.com), and
             Denise Hoffman, VP Admin (vp_admin@cumberland-jrgrads.com)
